Fight Song!

There was some talk about a Caps fight song.  Now the Chronicles has known about the local band the Darkest Hour’s song  for a while because Anna found it way back. Old news that has picked up some steam. We think the song is… well the song is… Well it’s the thought that counts! Do the Caps need a fight song? Not really! Does that stop me from throwing in my two cents? NO!

The Caps are in gear,
Our cylinders are clickin’!
The      insert opposing team here  ‘ll steer clear
‘Cause ev’ry      insert opposing team here  ‘s a lousy chicken! (note: “Penguins” fits the rhyme scheme rather well)

Here come the Caps
Like a bat out of hell.
Someone gets in our way,
Someone don’t feel so well!

Here come the Caps:
Little world, step aside!
Better go underground,
Better run, better hide!

We’re drawin’ the line,
So keep your noses hidden!
We’re hangin’ a sign,
Says “Visitors forbidden”
And we ain’t kiddin’!

Here come the Caps,
Yeah! And we’re gonna beat
Ev’ry last buggin’ team
On the whole buggin’ street!
On the whole!

I ripped this off from West Side Story? Yes. Excellent fight song? YES! Potential opening game video idea complete with the Caps doing a dance number ala “the Prologue”? Possibly mind blowing…

    Interesting, but I still prefer:

    1) Pummeler’s song/video titled “Ovechkin” (can be found on YouTube), or

    2) The concept of a video montage of great OV/Sasha/Varly moments set to Tchaikovskiy’s “1812 Overture”….with every a cannon blast accompanying the best goals, hits, and saves.(doesn’t exist yet)
